Dar Fama, medina of Tetuan 2017
The traditional house stayed vacant for long years and was in very bad conditions. It belongs to a local family who decided to convert it into a guest house with six rooms. The major works involved both the extension at first floor to create the two additional rooms of the house and her renovation to maintain the historical and traditional heritage of moroccan Medina's houses. To allow light into the two floors of the house, open skylights sit above the patio, the heart of the house and the stairs are extended up through the top terrace. A traditional zellige, similar to the existing one is used throughout to maintain the traditional stamp and maximize the flow around the house.
Scope: Renovation and extension of a traditional house for a conversion into a guest house / Duration: 12 months / Services: Feasibility to completion / Status: On site
